Cake Tester

The traditional Cake Tester for all your baking needs. Subtly redesigned in 2025, the Cake Tester and the Crumber are built from the same lengths of sorghum, minimizing waste by design and putting the College’s Seventh Great Commitment to mindfulness and sustainability into action. A beautiful hand-woven handle made of natural broom stalks surrounds three hand-rolled broomcorn bundles of “testers.” Named for the practice of removing a stalk and inserting it into a cake to ensure it’s done. An excellent addition to any kitchen, it makes a great gift.
