Foundations Coasters, Set of 6

The Foundations coasters were designed by student Dylan Heil ’25 in anticipation of a large group of incoming first years and new weavers. As student involvement in product design has increased, so has the complexity of many of our products. Understanding the delicate balance of learning that happens in the weaving studio, Dylan recognized that we needed another thoughtfully designed product that would be engaging to weave but not so challenging as to be frustrating or overwhelming. Students worked together to sample dozens of different color combinations and yarn weights to find the right balance between aesthetics and technical accessibility.
