Sunrise Gravity Hanger, Broom Holder & Cherry Broom Set

Taylor Nordmoe ’24 designed the Sunrise Broom Holder as a collaborative project between Student Craft and her academic study in the Engineering, Technology, and Applied Design program. Taylor designed this piece to support understanding of our 4th Great Commitment to the Dignity of All Labor. In Taylor’s own words, “The care taken to create this piece and to make it beautiful and decorative reflects how I clean to express my love and care for my friends. As a woman my relationship with domestic labor is complicated… I don’t clean because I believe domestic work is the only work I am suited for or because that ought to be my place. I clean because it is work that needs to be done and because my service of cleaning is the way I express love and care to those around me.”

This holder comes with a special broom on a shop-turned cherry handle.
