OVER 100 YEARS OF CRAFT

At Berea College we have been contributing to the world’s rich tradition of craft since 1893. Starting with Weaving and adding the Woodcraft program in 1895, with Broomcraft and Ceramics following in 1920, thousands of students have contributed to this rich history by dedicating their labor experience to the pursuit of craft.

Several items in our current catalog have been a part of the program since our earliest days; the Rachel and Honeycomb patterns within weaving, Skittles and our Berea Baskets in Woodcraft, the Streamliner series of brooms within Broomcraft, and our Ceramic pitchers. The continued production of these foundational items keeps us tied to our history as we look forward to the future.
