Description
These Flower Tiles originated as part of the Boone Tavern’s Crafted restaurant concept, which includes two large student designed and created flower tile installations intended to amplify Berea’s 7th Great Commitment to mindfulness and sustainability by celebrating the healing power of the seasons.
Diliara Galieva ’26 led the project, who spoke about her work this way:
“I have always liked spring, especially after long, dark, and cold months of snow. Sometimes people become sad and unmotivated during the winter months, but when spring comes, happiness returns as well. The change of seasons brings a feeling of new beginnings, of renewed hope. Each season is a blank page, ready to be painted with fresh, bright colors.” ~Diliara Galieva ’26
The large flower tile installations Diliara and her fellow ceramic students created for Crafted have been a highlight of the space, and these smaller individual tiles allow our supporters the opportunity to bring a piece of this project into their own homes.
